Description
This film with a personal message from the Duke of Edinburgh shows that overcoming physical or mental handicap, disabled people display willpower and energy which can be applied with success in employment and sport. Ability is where you look for it . . .
When you see for example that the man at the helm of an ocean racer is blind and has lost both his legs, you begin to see why. Very often, handicapped workers require no special facilties and they can make a valuable contribution in many ways.
This film made in 1980 reflects the cultural attitudes, social work procedures and language of the time it was made. The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards. But the issues raised are timeless.
