Description
Child abuse – most parents who maltreat their children were victims of similar treatment themselves. How can this chain be broken? Nigel Evans filmed at the centre at Gravesend where children are encouraged through therapy to come to terms with their acutely painful experiences. Several individuals are studied and speak for themselves and a foster mother looking after twenty children tells about her problems and successes.
Made in 1985 this film reflects the cultural attitudes, medical procedures and language of the time it was made. But the issues raised are timeless.
