Description

Investigates how job cuts and the intensification of work can damage people’s lives and their health, particularly in relation to one person operation of buses in the London Area. Using documentary interview, drama, photographs and music, it explores the stress, isolation and sense of loss of the driver who is under great pressure to meet demanding scheudles as well as driving, taking money and looking after his passengers.

This film made in 1985 reflects the cultural attitudes, social work procedures and language of the time it was made. The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards. But the issues raised are timeless.
