The Power to Change

Description

A film from 1985 about appropriate renewable technologies – human scale solutions to significant social and economic problems which we continue to see today. It was filmed around the United States – solar heating on farms in the midwest; urban composting in New York City; wind-powered electrical generation on the west coast; and much more. It focuses on people working together to find and utilise practical answers to questions which are increasingly important to the survival of society as we know it. It demonstrates that low-cost technologies appropriate to community environments are not utopian visions, but working realities. U.S.A.
Made in 1985 this film reflects the cultural attitudes and state of science of the time it was made.  The issues raised are timeless and continue in our forefront of our minds as the 21st century moves on.
