Description
About the media coverage of the 1982 health workers’ dispute, this film reveals how a stereotyped view of health workers was constructed by television and the newspapers. The story is told by three groups: London ambulance drivers who withdrew emergency cover for one day; staff at Oldham General Hospital whose well oranised action drew cameras and television crews, and staff in the Sterile Supplies Unit at St. Thomas’ Hospital, whose effective selective action hit the headlines.
