Description

This television film appeals for help on behalf of Amnesty International, the human rights organsation. When originally televised it resulted in thousands of offers of help. It looks specifically at four cases. The first group of peasant leaders in Mexico. The second a doctor in Argentina. The third case concerns a prisoner on Robben Island. South Africa and finally a miner in the Soviet Union was is held in an institution for the mentally ill. Linking interviews with a former military torturer from Uruguay help to make this an informative introduction to the work of Amnesty and the need for more volunteers.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
