Description
Examines the traditional image of women as portrayed in the world’s visual media and looks at the part of women play in determining that image. Young Indian women technicians challenge the male dominated film industry; many women work at Egyptian broadcasting, with little effect on potrayal of women as staying at home, but by contrast a low budget show in the Dominican Republic stresses the achievements of poor rural women in the Village.
The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
