Description

Part of a four part series on the changes taking place in China and the effects on individual people, presented by Glenda Jackson.

This vibrant colourful film captures the quality of idyllic life of the Dai community, a friendly, practical people living in Yunnan, close to the Burmese border of China. We are part of a wedding celebration, and of a water festival that celebrates the arrival of Spring. The Dais have embraced change but still maintain the accord with nature.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
