The film is unique in being the first visual record of a school for maladjusted children (circa 1943). It is an amateur film, with a commentary spoken 35 years later by David Wills, who had been in charge of the school and had written a book (The Barns Experiment) about it.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
