Too Much Too Young

£15.00

Discussion starter on teenage drinking; reasons and facts.

Description

Teenagers are drinking twice as much as they did a decade ago. And starting younger. In this discussion starter made by Quaker Action on Alcohol and Drugs, young people talk about their drinking; boredom is mentioned among other reasons. National differences are explored; for instance in France young people tend to drink wine instead of beer.

A doctor explains the symptoms of excessive drinking, which could cause liver damage, jaundice, heart and brain damage and dementia, and a police officer talks about the dangers of drinking and driving. The young commentator also stresses the problems relating to sex which drinking can cause, for example unwanted pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. Do young people often drink to blunt their negative feelings? It’s your choice!
