Description
High in the mountains of Bolivia, miners labour under some of the harshest conditions in the world to produce a commodity on which their country depends for survival. The developed world uses tin for products ranging from food cans to microcomputers, yet the Bolivian miners are degradingly poor. Sarah Hobson reports from the mining town of Siglo Veinte, and travels back to London with one Bolivian miner who wants to understand the workings of the international commodity markets.
