Description

Does life begin at 40 or is this the start of the steady downward slope? A long-term unemployed Scot talks of the dramatic effects that this has had upon himself and his wife; the changes in the perception he has of himself as a person and upon their relationship. How he fills his day, what he thinks and what he feels, the anger welling up inside. A wife and mother talks of losing her university husband to one of his young students and the resultant devastation in their lives and how they are trying to gather the pieces together.

A handicapped, single woman talks of her life, her sadness and her hopes. Part of a series of programmes by Malcolm Brown, who made the Talking About.. series. For teaching and learning purposes, the human life span is divided into 12 linked stages, from the pre-school child to the very old.
