Description
Pyotr Grigorenko spent more than ten years as prisoner in the Soviet Union because though he never lost his Communist beliefs he critcised the government for persecuting writers and for invading Czechoslovakia. His journals and letters to his wife, which were smuggled out of the mental hospitals where he was held without trial, form the basis of this film which is re-enacted his experience as authentically as possible.
