Surveillance – History and Possible Future

£19.50

A look at the online surveillance of people back in the late 90’s and what predicted future technologies could hold for people.

Description

Made in the late 1990s, this film shows to what extent the collecting of facts about our lifestyles and consumer habits were already being collected by supermarkets and other retailers. The film paints a rather alarmist picture of a future in which chips are embedded in us giving extra capabilitiies but at a cost of being controlled by outside forces.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
