A series of four case studies showing how stress can affect people’s lives, particularly in relation to work. Psychologist Peter Holden introduces each study with an explanation of stress and its causes, and concludes with advice on coping with it.

1. Peter Rogers – Successful Accountant: Peter Rogers is 38, a successful accountant who recently received promotion. This meant added responsibility and a move. He and his family moved into a large comfortable house and everything seemed fine.. but was it ? Running time: 14 mins

2. Pauline Marshall 33 – Catering Supervisor: Pauline Marshall, married with two teenage children, worked for the last six years for a local company as a canteen assistant. She enjoyed the work and the atmosphere, but when she was appointed supervisor things started going wrong. Running time: 13 mins

3. Robert Fraser, Retired: Robert Fraser had worked for the same company for over 30 years. He and his wife had looked forward to his retirement, and had planned to enjoy the extra time together. But it didn’t work out like that. Running time: 12 mins

4. Sandra Taylor – Head of Personnel: Sandra Taylor is 26 and recently divorced. She had worked for a successful public relations company since leaving school, and she seemed very efficient and level headed. This led to several promotions, till she was appointed head of personnel. But all was not well. Running time: 13 mins
