Description

Massive strip-mining operations by, among others, Rio Tinto Zinc, have decimated the original aborigine population in Queensland. Neither royalties nor compensation are paid to the aborigine natives when mining companies usurp their land. This film portrays a plight which closely parallels that of the US Indians – The destruction of an ancient traditional culture replaced by alienation, unemployment and alcoholism. In the words of the chariman of Rio Tinto Zinc: “It’s a question of priorities, isn’t it?”.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
