Description
Jallow gives a humorous account of his life since he came to England from Jamaica. At first he intended to stay only a few months to earn enough money to buy a motorbike and then go back to Jamaica. But things did not go the way he had planned and he had a succession of jobs including working on a market, in a tyre repair company and finally in a West indian restaurant. He has a happy philosophy of life. “I’ll take any job I can get until I get the job I want.” “I wanted a proper job and not get mixed up in drug selling.” “Through determination you can succeed.”
