Description
How do we view death? This film shows how a simple community confronts the experience, and how all the people are involved in their rituals and their grief; death is not something shut away. This study, made in a Yugoslavian village, should make us question our own customs and beliefs.
Made in 1988 this film reflects the cultural attitudes and language of the time it was made and the country in which it was made. The issues raised are timeless. The film quality may not be to modern standards.
