Description
Shows how the citizens of Swindon are successfully defending their open spaces and wildlife, and how the public, private and voluntary sectors work together. A green corridor links the River Thames with the ancient Ridgeway track, and projects involving canals, disused railway lines, ancient woodland, rubbish tips, quarries and herb-rich meadows are shown. A fine example of how concerned people can work together for conservation even in a rapidly expanding town.
This film is of historical interest but the issues raised are still current.
