Description
MADE IN 1989. There are now more people of retirement age with less of the population of working age than ever before. There are around two million people over the age of 85 in Britain, and similarly in most Western countries. The ESRC is researching this phenomenon. Four major issues are discussed: perspectives of old age, finance and old age, care and old age and politics and old age. Three social scientists, Prof. Alan Walker, Dr Sara Arbor and Dr Johnson, analyse these themes in the light of this research.
