Description

This film is critical examination of the “mighty micro” and the claim that we are witnessing a twentieth century technological revolution. It looks at the myth of the microchip – that it will bring increased leisure and relive men and women of boring repetitive work. It shows new technology often means the loss of skilled work and less responsibility and democratic control. As well as a view of critics, we see how management, mass media and some politicians sing its praises, labelling those who question it as luddites who stand in the way of progress.
