Description
In 1986 an optimistic look to a future which unfortunately has not happened, Eamon Burke is an 11-year-old Australian who feels strongly enough about nuclear weapons to co-ordinate the efforts of other children and approach the Presidents of Russia and America, as well as his own country. He is interviewed by the press, and the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs. Then he receives an invitation to the USSR, and gets a warm welcome. A deeply moving film that looks at the way one small boy pushes his capacity to speak up for himself, in a world he sees careering towards desconstruction. It is about the power of innocence and hope in a world gone mad.
