Description
A life history of a 95 year old Birmingham woman called Phyllis Ethel Knowles. Born in 1898 in the last years of Victoria’s reign, she remembers her youth and the coming of the modern mechanised age. Phyllis was third in the country in the high jump and has many medals and other memorabilia of her life, which she shows in the video. The earliest photo is from about 1900. Phyllis’s memories are very vivid and she lucidly describes different aspects of her life, presenting a positive image of old age.
