Description
In 1996 community based mental health facilities in a London Borough.
Public fear and misunderstanding about mental health is a significant barrier to effective care in the community and a major concern for service providers and users, particularly when the local press become involved and the stakes are high.
Aimed at service providers, ‘Good Neighbours’ is a video training resource which looks at neighbourhood opposition to community-based mental health services from the points of view of the providers, the neighbours and the service users. It reflects a range of approaches to neigbourhood consultation and looks at strategies for communicating with local communities, agencies and the media.
