Description

This absorbing film, narrated by featuring Susan Hampshire was made by the Spastics Society to support its National Campaign, “save-a-baby”. It stresses the need for vastly improved maternity services in order to bring Britain up to those high standards operating in some other countries such as France. The film refers to evidence suggesting that reduction of handicap is not only humanly worthwhile but makes economic sense as well.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
