Description

We all eat more and more processed foods. Fat, sugar and salt are becoming an increasingly important part of our diet. All this has led to a big increase in coronary heart disease. Scotland and Ireland have the highest rate in the world. Why do we continue to eat this kind of food? The film suggests that part of the blame must be the responsibility of the food industry which is motivated by profit rather than good nutrition.

Part of a series of films A Picture of Health which challenge the notion that ill-health is a matter of only individual concern and cure. It argues that it concerns not only the medical expert but also society and change must come through political action.
