Description

A general survey of town planning and architecture. Starting from the village green, a picture is built up of the needs of communities, from small to large, the expansion of facilities libraries, health services, supermarkets, etc. Housing has to take note of climatic conditions. New towns and the provision of industrial and leisure needs. During the industrial revolution things were left to chance. A large office block is a type of community, and we see a design team at work considering and planning for the technical and social needs of those who will work in the building.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
