In this unusual documentary, people in the funeral trade talk intimately about their work, how they felt during their first encounter with a corpse, and what they want done with their bodies when they die. The stories they tell are surprisingly warm and funny. The film makers spent seven months with body workers and uncovered many fascinating insights into how people look at corpses and death, how we avoid the subject of death whenever we can, and how we prefer someone else to look after the whole messy business – quickly and discreetly. Although made in Australia, could apply equally in Britain.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
