Description
The story of one unemployed 19-year-old girl in Sydney’s western suburbs and her search for a job. Julie left school just before turning 15, and is unskilled. Since leaving school she has had a number of jobs – check operator, shop assistant, office worker, snack bar attendant and usherette – but they have rarely lasted longer than six months. She is searching for a job in district where there is one job for 34 females under 21 registered unemployed. By humanising otherwise anonymous statistics, the film aims to promote greater understanding of how unemployment affects youth.
