Description
On 17th January 1966, a U.S. Air Force B-52 crashed after a mid-air collision with its refuelling plane over Spain, rupturing the bomb casings of two of the four thermo-nuclear bombs on board and scattering plutonium across the villages of Palomares and Villaricos. Twenty years after the event the local people still feel anger, grief and frustration at the way the incident has been covered up. Compensation has been quite inadequate, and only now are the longterm effects being recognised.
