Description
Unemployment kills. Professor Harvey Brenner of John Hopkins University in Baltimore has been researching for 15 years, and came to England to make a special survey of the relationship between death and unemployment in Liverpool and Nottingham. The findings were quite definite – not only is the suicide rate higher amongst the unemployed, but also the death rate from other illnesses such as heart attacks, strokes and liver disease.
