Eminent US speakers with medical and military backgrounds deliver papers which are enhanced by the use of official film footage of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and films of nuclear weapons testing, including the effects on buildings. As one speaker puts it, ‘every doctor who participates in the illusion that there is a value in Civil Defence in a nuclear war, helps to perpetuate that illusion and in so doing, is breaking the Hippocratic Oath’.
