Description
Felix is filmed on three different occasions at a private day nursery. One can see the adverse effects, both on him and on the other children, of the indiscriminate group care they receive, with no particular adult attachment figures. We see Felix on his fourth birthday and with his mother’s new partner decorating the Christmas tree. He is filmed playing out some of his feelings about these relationships, and having an intelligence test. His last meeting with relations before going to live in New Zealand is filmed. On his fifth birthday in New Zealand we see him with a new baby brother. At the age of six he is shown playing with his brother and his stepfather. His first school report is discussed.
