Description
At Kingsholme, an old people’s home in Bournemouth, the residents themselves make the decisions which affect them, and take as much part as they can in the running of the home, whereas in most places the old people are passive ‘customers’. Residents and staff discuss the advantages and problems of the system, which on the whole is very successful. Stewart Greenwell of Bristol Polytechnic.
