Description
Discussion on the dilemmas raised by new technologies as well as lack of resources, as they affect young children. Poses open ended questions such as the right to life versus the right to die, and stresses the importance of involving the parents and if possible the children themselves in decisions which affect them, and of being aware of the patients’ own feelings and dignity. Explores ways to break bad news to parents, and the way a severely disabled child’s life may still be enriching for those around them. Dr Janet Goodall, Still illustrations.
Made in 1994 this film reflects the cultural attitudes and language of the time it was made. The issues raised are timeless. The film quality may not be to modern standards.
