Description

An introductory film for those wanting to know why the Cruise Missiles which have been added to the NATO arsenal have aroused such antipathy from the anti-movement. The film includes archive film of the second world war flying bomb and other antecedents of the Cruise. Joan Ruddocks of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament explains why she feels that the arms race has reached a new and more dangerous stage where both sides fear a ‘pre-emptive strike’ and the consequent increase in tension with the adoption of ‘launch on warning’ strategies.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
