Description

This film demonstrates various techniques for supervising family therapy. The use of family trees, family charts, family sculpting and film of the session to improve supervision given after the session. During the session the therapist can watch through a one way screen and communicate via telephone and earphone, or the trainee therapist can come out for discussion with the supervisor. Finally, the gap between supervisor and trainee is closed when the supervisor joins the trainee in the therapy room. The film can be watched on it’s own or in conjunction with the book. “Family Therapy Supervision – Recent Developments in Practice” ed. R. Whiffen and J. Bynd-Hall Academic Press.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
