Description

At any one time, between 15% and 20% of 15 million children and young people in the UK are experiencing significant mental health problems. Without help they are at risk of developing even further difficulties with their mental health.

This film looks at the role teachers can have in dealing with emotional and behavioural problems in children and actively promoting their mental health. It shows new initiatives currently taking place in schools and ways of preventing children’s behavioural problems becoming longer-term mental health issues.

Behind the Behaviour is aimed primarily at teachers and other education professionals who work with children between the ages of 4 – 11 years. Teachers can use the video and booklet to stimulate discussion with colleagues, in a training session or in day to day professional lives.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
