Description

A series of video-based training programmes for use in the training of assessors and internal verifiers working with National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs).

Uses the standards developed by the Integration Project of Care Sector consortium and includes the Value Base Unit that form the AWARDS IN CARE. It looks in detail at the process of agreeing how to gather evidence, what is appropriate and relevant, how much evidence is needed and the conclusions that can be drawn. There are three real case studies: 1 Diane is a care worker in a long stay hospital ward with elderly women who have learning difficulties or are confused. Shows the care that must be taken in not intruding into the privacy of clients. 2. Rose is a home carer working with a young man who has MS. Illustrates the complexities of assessing a care worker who bears enourmous emotional stress and who is not used to discussing her work.

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards but is useful for historical use.
