What is grief ? How long does it last ? What does it feel like ? What happens when you’re in it, and how do you know when it goes away ? What can people do to help someone who is experiencing grief ? Eric Stange made this video after his wife died of cancer at the age of thirty. “I felt cheated”, he says, “that nowhere in my life had I ever had an inkling of what it feels like to have someone you love die. It was really a mystery to me how strong the feelings were, how unbearable.” The programme is a look at the emotional process of grieving, through intimate interviews with four men and women, young and old, who have lost loved ones and lived through the aftermath.
