This classic film is in three parts: Part 1 was filmed at the Opportunity Class in Stevenage, Herts, where handicapped and able children are taken together in a nursery group. Part 2 was filmed at Corams Fields in London at a playgroup project run by parents with professional backing. Part 3 was filmed in Newcastle at a special school for children with learning disabilities. Dorothy Heathcote takes a group of the children for a drama class.
Made in 1985 this film reflects the cultural attitudes and language of the time it was made. The issues raised are timeless.
