The Wheel is a group of seven women artists working together in Norfolk. They work in a co-operative non-competitive way, and believe that art is not only for an elite, and that it can have a healing influence. For an open air festival they produce very delicate and harmonious works, often made out of flower petals, shells, plants and other parts of nature, as well as mirrors, gauze, rope, paper etc. They believe in the influence of the forces of nature on our bodies as well as our minds and feelings. Most of them also work in various forms of healing through art therapy, yoga, massage etc.
Made in 1988 this film reflects the cultural attitudes and language of the time it was made. The issues raised are timeless. The film quality may not be to modern standards.
