Description
On December 17, 1943, the ancient Wiltshire village of Imber was evacuated for use by the US troops preparing for the D-Day landings. 50 years later, Imber is still a military training ground, in the middle of a live firing range. But despite all attempts by the authorities to kill the issue, Imber is far from forgotten. As one campaigner said in the programme, “This is a thing which a democratic state should never, ever have done.”
