Description
Port Meadow is unique, older than the University, older than the Domesday Book. It is one of the largest stretches of common land in England, and it has never been ploughed. The film looks at the many facets of the meadow, its history, ecology, and its use by the people of Oxford.
This film is of historical interest and reflects the cultural attitudes, medical procedures and language of the time it was made. The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards. But the issues raised are timeless.
