Description
A history of black settlers in Britain. It begins by recalling that as early as 1510 there was an established black community in Edinburgh. Tracing the arrival of black people from Africa, Asia and the Carribean over four centuries, the programme focuses on the continual struggle against poverty, oppresion and racism as well as the contribution of black people, both ordinary people and well-known personalities, to British society. The programme can be used with church or secular aduiences and should prove especially useful in secondary schools and colleges. Produced by Catholic Association for Racial Justice.
