These were the words used by the astronaut Russell Schweikert in recalling his feelings as he stepped into space and looked at the earth, “There are hundreds of people killing each other over some imaginary line that you can’t even see … you realise that on that small spot, that little blue and white thing, is anything that means anything to you. All of history and music and poetry and art and birth and love, tears, joy, games, all of it.” The film explores the “frames” of reference and the artificial man-made “boundaries” that exist between nations and the current spending of billions of pounds each year on armaments to defend them. It also shows the global groundswell of grass roots and community action by period working for a world beyond war.
