Description
Pollution levels in the Thames Valley are far higher than are found anywhere else in Europe. Farm waste and sewage are making our rivers unsafe and even the North Sea is contaminated by 8,000 tons of sewage a day, making most of our beaches fall well below EEC standards. The programme also touches on the problem of car exhaust fumes, which are not controlled in Britain as they are in other European countries, and acid rain. Are our priorities right?
