Description
Looks at the issues of race and disability from the point of view of four young women with learning disabilities. They discuss their experiences of being black and disabled in an often hostile and racist society, and the problems of having physical and communication difficulties. The video was made with a racially mixed group, but the black women stress the positive effects of meeting in a black women’s group.
Made in 1990 this film reflects the cultural attitudes and language of the time it was made. But the issues raised are timeless.
