Description
“1700 METRES FROM THE FUTURE” is a 85 minutes documentary about the inhabitants of a small, isolated Faroe Island settlement called Gásadalur (“Goose Dale”) – a community on the very edge of the world and of time, located in the North Atlantic. In the film, nature and man’s intercourse with nature play a major role, Legend and myth are living, vibrant elements, Gásadalur’s the last settlement in the Faroe Islands without road links. A tunnel has been planned through the fell that cuts the community off from the outside world. Gásadalur is still waiting for it’s tunnel, as the film shows; a film that is a document “1700 METRES FROM THE FUTURE”.
