Harry is a young man who has mild learning disabilities and has spent most of his life in institutions because of his chronic self-abuse. He hits, bites and throws himself on the floor. To counter his hitting himself Harry was given arm restraints and over time he became addicted to them so that he would not allow them to be removed. This film shows the intensive process of behaviour modification and a token economy programme to stop Harry’s self abuse, his addiction to his restraints and to re-socialise him so that he can participate in meaningful activities. An unforgettable documentary. USA.
